Here's the link for tonight, better late than never - 'Reverberations: The Influence of Steve Reich'. It's your last chance for the time being to hear "LAD" by Julia Wolfe. It's definitely worth the listen. There are events on all day today. Thanks to all those at the DHFC last night! That got pretty interesting.

I'll be playing at the Barbican next Thursday and Saturday, as part of 'Reverberations: The Influence of Steve Reich'. There are events on all day Saturday and Sunday, I'll be on at 7:30pm on Saturday.

Recorded some mysterious smallpipes with Alasdair Roberts last night, for the ballad 'Thomas the Rhymer', engineered by Clutch Daisy. Also soon to be released by Alasdair, with help from Tom Crossley's flute and my whistles, is 'Joy to the Person of My Love' on Rif Mountain.

The Ealing Studios film 'Burke and Hare', directed by John Landis, has been out a week or two now as you probably know. The film seems to have divided the critics, but I'm proud to say I played the pipes for the soundtrack (written by the very talented Joby Talbot), and all the penny whistle parts except where Isla Fisher pulls a whistle out from between her boobs and joins in with the band.

If you've still to go and see the film, sorry for that spoiler. I recommend you sit through the credits, though, at least until after The Proclaimers 500 miles finishes, when you can experience the 'bagpipe swing' experiment that director John had his heart set on. My favourite bit is the free improv on pipes and trumpet, right at the end!
