Bagpiper - having a laugh

What are Highland Bagpipes? What are Scottish Smallpipes?

You might not know it yet, but there's literally hundreds of kinds of bagpipe in the world, from Spanish to Indian. If you don't believe me, click here for more!

The most famous one is the Scottish Highland Bagpipe, loud and proud of it, which is the Bagpipe you've probably heard a hundred times before.

The Scottish Smallpipes, however, have always been a bit of a rarity, even in Scotland. They provide a beautifully low pitched and mellow, woody sound ideal for indoor venues. You can hear samples of both pipes here.
